Catablogue is a space for West Yorkshire Archive Service staff to report news about our collections, and to record information about their cataloguing work and the collections development projects they participate in.
It was set up in August 2009 by our Collections Manager in the hope that the blog would develop into a readable journal of the collections work which goes on behind the scenes at West Yorkshire Archive Service – as a complement to the articles printed in West Yorkshire Heritage magazine, and to formal reports to the West Yorkshire Joint Services, Joint Committee.
Our aim is to include contributions about the whole range of collections and collections work with which staff are involved. So eventually there should be something here for everyone – whether you are a local historian, genealogist, academic researcher, or using the archives for business or just for leisure.
We encourage comment and discussion, questions and clarifications.
